Clutter Control
How many things can I do without? ~ Socrates
Eliminating clutter is a critical step to simplify your life. This involves more than filing papers or organizing things in cute containers. You will do some of that, but this will also require THROWING THINGS AWAY!
The process is more simple that you might think. All you need to do is work on one drawer, cupboard or closet each day. That’s it. If your project for the day is larger (like a pantry) then just work 15 minutes a day. Use a kitchen timer, and when your 15 minutes are up stop.
If just the thought of cleaning your clutter exhausts you, you will actually spend more energy thinking about it and living in the middle of it, than you will spend just cleaning it up. The Drawer-a-Day is a great way to deal with clutter. Simply focus on one drawer, or shelf, or cupboard a day. You’ll not only be amazed at how quickly you can finish one drawer or cupboard, you will also be amazed at how motivated you will feel after just a few days of doing this. It’s addicting. The more you do, the more you want to do. And if you are feeling ambitious on a particular day, you can always do one room a day.
