Family Ties
Teach your children the importance of remembering and caring for their family members.
As a family make a Care Package to send to a family member that lives out of town. Include things such as
~Pictures of your family or pictures of the last time you were all together
~Cookies that you baked together as a family
~Their favorite magazine
~A $5 gift card to rent a movie and a package of microwave popcorn
~A personal note or artwork from each of your children
~Anything else that is meaningful or fun for your family
You could also go digital. Send them an email. Attach photos, include a link to a funny website and include an electronic gift card. A fun way to send pictures is www.SmileBox.com If you both have web cams SKYPE is a great way to stay in touch.
The specifics or logistics of what you do isn't as important as just the act of keeping in touch and teaching your kids the importance of family.
